Design & Bid Package Development for the construction of leachate pretreatment components and 5-mile long conveyance system with advanced integrity monitoring and operational controls capabilities

Project Highlights

• Managed design and development of four (4) separate Bid Packages and evaluations of cost-reduction measures:
• Effluent Force Main
• Landfill Leachate Force Main
• Wetland Restoration
• Leachate Treatment and Effluent For Main Support Components
• Reduced risk and prevented environmental impacts to wetlands and other ecologically-sensitive areas by designing the 5-mile pipeline with the following:
• Dual-contained HDPE piping
• Continuous solar-powered monitoring system w/ radio telemetry
• Strategically located repeater stations
• Multiple valve station/air release vaults with liquid detection sensors
• Control system that polls the monitoring system every few seconds for pipeline pressure and vault liquid detection
• Provided Construction Support

• A Control System that allows operators to select flow rate and total daily flow to the POTW.
• System operates continuously with pipeline “surge” cycles at higher scour velocity or in batch cycles during low flow conditions.
