Renewable Natural Gas Facility Design & Permitting

South Carolina
Confidential Client

Planning, design, and permitting for the development of a 2,000 SCFM LFG-to-RNG Plant for transmission to a local natural gas pipeline for use across the regional distribution network. The plant is designed to process up to 2,000 SCFM of LFG at approximately 45-50 percent methane content. This plant is proposed to replace a former Landfill Gas to Energy (LFGTE) facility that has been offline for a few years.

Project Highlights

  • Landfill Gas Conveyance and Controls Design
  • Land Development and Permitting
  • Geotechnical Investigation
  • Environmental Permitting
  • Air Permitting
  • Gas Delivery and Condensate Management Mechanical, Electrical, and SCADA Design
  • Mechanical Process Simulation
  • Facility Structural Design
  • Facility Mechanical, Electrical, Process Instrumentation Design

Benefits (Engineering, Economics, & Environment)

  • Integrated LFG Beneficial Use project to replace offline LFGTE facility
  • Reduced GCCS capital expenditures for the landfill by sharing these costs with the RNG Plant Operator
  • Helps the landfill meet their Sustainable Circular Economy and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions reduction goals
